In 2018, JoJo decided that he wanted to pick up a new skill. The old guitar that his grandpa had purchased for $5 at a garage sale laid in the basement collecting dust. Music had always been a part of his family but he had always assumed that it would be too difficult for him. However, he was hungry for a challenge, so he dusted off the guitar and got to work. Writing songs has become his number one passion and he uses his voice and the guitar to tell those stories to anyone that will listen. His freshman EP, Hold My Ghost, was recorded by Scott Farris at Amusement Park Studios in Lubbock, Texas. It dropped in October of 2021 and has since received radio play and great reviews from listeners.
"I feel like too many artists are bound by one specific sound or grouped into one genre. If I, or anyone, writes 100 songs and they all sound different, that's perfectly fine. Music or songwriting in any form should come from the soul and that's all that matters." JoJo writes and performs his songs with titles such as "Write to Forget You", "Ghost", "Best Friend", and many others. The West Texas Music scene has produced some of the most talented musical artists of all time. JoJo DiSalvo looks to carry on the great tradition of writing, singing, and playing the same as they have for generations.
